We’ve been doing a lot of quizzes and games around here, and because we’re ‘wordsmiths’, we find we love all the word games, like crossword puzzles, acrostics, search a word, boggle, anagrams, scrabble, etc. But we also kinda like trivia games like trivial pursuit, movie quizzes, celebrity search games, history, sports science. Recently we even tried out a new game called ‘running charades’! It’s just like charades, where you act out clues using no words, but you play in teams that are in different rooms in the house. One person has a list of clues in the center of the house, and each team gets a clue, runs to their team, acts it out, and whoever guesses it right, runs back to the clue-giver, tells them the correct answer and gets the next clue to act out. There are only ten clues, so you have to get through them quick, and with all the running, things can get pretty hectic!

The KEWLstaff all took a nice long weekend off and spent some quality time with their families! Some of us got seriously lazy. Some of us went to art fairs and music festivals. And some of us went for long walks along beautiful beaches in beautiful weather. All of us had our thoughts with those in the Gulf Coast area, and wish them full recovery soon.

With everything going on yesterday, we totally forgot to tell you guys! EA Games just announced that Natasha Bedingfield will be the official sponsor of their newest game, Boogie Superstar for Wii! It’s a pretty kewl game that the company even brought by our offices a few weeks back to let us try out! You get to dance and sing to your fave stars from RIGHT NOW! Natasha, Maroon 5, Missy Elliot, Aly & Aj, Fall Out Boy, The Jonas Brothers, Leona Lewis, Ashley Tisdale and so many more! You totally get to be in the spotlight, work on your moves until they are stage ready, and sing to your heart’s content, either with your friends or on your own! Kind of a kewl improvement to just bouncing on your bed and screaming along, right? The game will be available in October, so start doing the extra chores now!

The whole KEWLteam is hard at work today putting the finishing touches on something really kewl for you guys! It’s going to be kewl-razy! kewltastic! kewlicious?!? Whatever! The plans are not quite ready to be plastered all over the place, but if you possibly can, keep your eyes glued to this spot, and do your darndest to get your family to southern California for the weekend of November 22nd.  That’s all I can say! Today we got to interview Natasha Bedingfield!!! She was so sweet and fun, and very thoughtful about what she does and how it affects the world. What we really talked to her about…well, we can’t tell you until TOMORROW! So make sure to watch our news during the day on Wednesday!

We’ve been crazy busy, getting our new KEWLteamers on track, and bringing all the kewlblogs back up to date! If you’ve left a comment on one of our celebrity blogs and were wondering why it never showed up - well look again now! If it’s not there yet, it will be soon! There were hundreds of comments we didn’t get to, and we apologize profusely! The new team members are extremely on the ball though, so we don’t expect this to happen any more!

Yesterday, all the claim forms started arriving from all the July issue contest winners, and we did a huge ship out of prizes and KEWLstore items! - remember: you can only ‘purchase’ one KEWLstore item per calendar month! A lot of people are not reading all the directions and rules (!) and  getting people their points back can take a long time.

Well, it’s time to get back to work!

This kewl staffer is the weirdest  TV watcher ever! I only watched the opening and closing ceremonies, and nothing in between! Guess that’s what happens when you give up TV and only watch it at friend’s houses!

Loved the opening ceremonies! Closing ceremonies were kinda boring for me, even with Leona Lewis, and crazy amounts of performers running around and climbing and flying. I’m sure there was something kewl in the middle there I might have missed (!), so tell us here: What was your fave thing about the Olypmics! You can even have more than one!

We’ve gone into quiet mode here at KEWL. This is when we brainstorm about what we should put into the next issue - which isn’t September! We’ve actually finished that one, and are working for October now! How do you like that? So we’re hard at work, gathering the all spooky, scary and Halloween-y stuff we can find for you guys.

We’re not so much into horror movies here. okay, to be fair, some of the staff are, but we always just put our fingers in our ears and sing “La, la, la, la!” So we don’t know much about that Some of us like to sleep well at night instead! And walk around the house in the dark, and other things that become impossible with too many scary movies in our brains. Just saying!

So let us know what things you think of when you think October! Orange is a big one for me - but is it cheesy (!) to wear orange and black in October? Or is it always kewl?

We were kinda busy here at KEWL, but we dusted off the computer randomizer, downloaded all the internet entries, uploaded all the write-in entries, and had the computer spit out the winners for the July 08 prizes!!!

All winners have been sent emails or letters letting them know they have won (is your KEWL profile up to date?!?), plus all the winners are now listed in the winner’s section of the Prize page on kewlmag.com, so you can check it, even if your profile isn’t up to date! Aren’t we nice?

Last night, our staff photog Eric had a close encounter with Selena Gomez!  She was going to the movies, just like you and me, and he just happened to be there, too. Then, a few minutes later, he ran into Chelsea Staub, from Minutemen and the star of the upcoming TV show J.O.N.A.S. ! He managed to talk to her (the paparazzi were surrounding Selena) and even got her to sign a few things for future contests - that guy is always thinking about you guys!

Pretty star-filled evening, eh?

We’ve just sent an intern out to buy a single long-stemmed rose for Romeo! He’s here today to do a photo-shoot and interview before he goes back to school again! Once he’s in school, he’s under the NCAA rules again, and can’t do any publicity - so this is our last chance! So far he’s pretty kewl, and we’ll be spending the day with him to find out just how kewl!
